Always a favorite, Lupita’s let us down!! The food was not what we remembered
upon our return. Gone were those crispy homemade chips-in-baskets, and delicious taquitas, on the table. The tacos were flat, no flavor, hardly any filling. The enchilada suizas were disasterous tight little rolls of gummy cheese, no sauce, nothing! We asked for the taquitas, had to special order for $4.50, that used to be included in the baskets of chips. The chips they serve now are no longer homemade, and a soft triangle of cakelike dough. Not crisp or crunchy. Yuk! We were seated after a very long wait, at a tiny table against a wall, in the back. Granted, they were busy, but we had NO service, not even a set-up, for so long that my husband had to demand it. Our experience at an old-favorite, Lupita’s, was enough to keep us from returning…ever. This makes us so sad. We really care very much for Lupita herself, and her sons and daughters, who are cordial always…
